The Challenge

Kyi Kyi was already enhancing their strategies for promoting seasonal items through paid channels. They sought to augment their revenue streams via affiliate marketing to offset any potential shortcomings in paid advertising.

The client was initially drawn to the affiliate platform due to its cost-efficient commission-based deals. We expanded our paid media advertising to target Canada-wide and experimented with various affiliate markets to fill in the gaps. Their objective was to explore diverse markets, including the US, Europe, and the UK, while generating additional revenue.

The Solution

Our affiliate experts were up for the challenge. Here is what we did:

  • Launched the program in late September and hit the ground running
  • Onboarded the top lower funnel publishers before our high season and before Black Friday & the holiday season.
  • Customized our commission structure to match the volume of traffic for our partners to incentivize them further to drive sales.
  • Focused on our partnerships to benefit both parties. We got creative in our deals with our publishers because our budget was limited on affiliates.
  • Recruited publishers outside of Canada and grew revenue from them.
  • Saved our budget by only paying for traffic when it resulted in a sale. Sales in the European market were all commission-based deals. This led our account to grow with efficient costs.
  • Funneled this information with the Paid media team so we can better strategize for the next season.

During our off-season, we were able to further test new markets and publishers without incremental costs. Our Affiliate channel helped to improve efficiencies within their global marketing strategy.






The results?

Our affiliate strategy was extremely successful. We were able to reach 5-figure revenue within our first 5 months. As a result of our efforts of recruiting outside of Canada, our US publishers drove 86% of our Affiliate sales.

Additionally, we grew our presence in key European markets and drove sales there as well!
