You see a company’s true colors when it faces difficult challenges. In recent weeks, we have seen what Quebec entrepreneurs and companies are made of. Times are tough, but many businesses, large and small, are rolling up their sleeves to get through the crisis.
Since we work with entrepreneurs and marketers on a daily basis, we see all the challenges they are currently facing. We would like to congratulate a few Quebec companies that are adapting, being proactive, reinventing themselves and challenging the status quo to help their communities.
Cook it
We were fans of Cook it way before social distancing and isolation. But, since the crisis started, Cook it has stepped up their game, even more. The meal delivery service, in partnership with Pur Vodka, offered 6000 free meals to workers in the food industry. And, to make life easier for its customers, Cook it is offering to add essentials food items (like bread and milk) to their boxes. As online grocery stores are overwhelmed, this new feature is a blessing for some. Good job Cook it!
Tristan
The fashion company, Tristan, completely shifted the vocation of their factory overnight. Their employees at their Cookshire-Eaton factory began manufacturing medical equipment in just a few days. How impressive is that? Seeing a business adapt their offering quickly to help their community is heartwarming!
Bauer
Just like Tristan, the hockey company Bauer decided to produce masks to protect healthcare workers. The company turned their hockey visors into protective visors for medical professionals and first responders. 👏
Canac
We also want to applaud Canac, an independent hardware and construction materials chain, who needs to keep their shop open for essential services. First off, keeping stores up and running during the crisis is a complex challenge and they’ve been doing a great job at keeping their employees safe. Second off, Canac offered $90 000 in medical equipment to hospitals and clinics that need help in these uncertain times.
New Look
Most New Look stores across Quebec are closed to comply with government guidelines. However, this has not stopped New Look from assisting health care workers in case of emergencies. According to their website, New Look “has put in place a service that prioritizes the replacement of broken eyewear exclusive to all hospital workers across Canada.” The company also offers to cover the transaction costs for employees without insurance. Taking care of our medical staff is crucial right now and New Look is definitely doing its part!
Vertdure
Small gestures can make a big difference too. The lawn treatment company, Vertdure, has volunteered to collect N95 masks, gloves or visors unused by local businesses. They are still looking for donations, visit their website for more information.
Ipnos
Ipnos is the company behind the application “Relax Melodies” which allows users to calm their anxiety and reduce their stress. The company now offers free content on its application to help Quebecers relax during this difficult period.
Le musée Pointe-à-callière
During this crisis, people need to take their minds off things and have fun. We are very happy to see some museums from Quebec, like Pointe-à-Callière, offering virtual tours of their exhibits. We loved visiting the museum from the comfort of our homes, try it out here.
There Is No Shortage Of Inspiring Businesses In Quebec
In just a few days, we have witnessed the resilience of our local businesses. In addition to the companies mentioned above, we also want to give a big thumbs up to the companies that are reinventing themselves, sharing creative content, entertaining our children, and providing a little bit of comfort during this stressful period.
We are grateful to help inspiring companies grow online so they can continue to do their amazing work. You have our full admiration and respect!
