It’s hard to believe, but 2022 is coming to an end…
We’ve made it a tradition, in December, to look back at where we’ve been and what we’ve accomplished during the past year.
Here’s a recap of some of our favorite moments from 2022.
The Introduction of Bloom’s Culture Pillars: Bloom Recharge, Bloom Anywhere, Bloom Together
We at Bloom relentlessly seek ways to improve our work environment to ensure that every employee feels like they can grow and learn at Bloom.
What does this commitment look like? Well, the last year has seen multiple HR changes including the creation of new role opportunities, the introduction of Bloom Recharge, and the improvement of perks and benefits.
Indeed, we’ve created new roles and supervisor positions to provide more people with further opportunities to develop their management, leadership and technical skills.
We’ve also introduced Bloom Recharge, a committee in charge of finding new ways to rest and disconnect in order to be in a better position to deliver our best work for clients.
Finally, we’ve improved our perks and benefits to try to make Bloom a great place to work where flexibility, autonomy and work-life balance is at the core of our culture.
With the new adjustments made to our HR practices, we’ve developed a clearer vision of Bloom’s perks in accordance with our three pillars.
Bloom Anywhere
Bloom Together
Bloom Recharge
Since Bloom’s beginnings in 2007, our approach to the three pillars has seen varying forms. However, with the agency’s growth since then, we’ve reintroduced them in a way that clearly demonstrates what Bloom has to offer for current and future employees.
The 4.5 Work Week Pilot Project
To give Bloomers more time to recharge, we’ve introduced the 4.5-day work week as of July 1st. Instead of our traditional Summer hours (the office closes at 3 pm on Fridays), everyone had Friday afternoon off to, for example, spend more time with their family, get chores done or spend time outside. This pilot project was set to end on Labour Day, but the positive impact was so clear, we decided to expand the project until, at least, December 31st.
When gathering feedback from the team, everyone said the 4.5-day work week was beneficial to them. Many mention that their productivity increased during the rest of the week and other mentioned how their work/life balance had improved greatly.
We’re excited to see how this project will evolved in 2023!
All of Our On-Site Content Shoot
It was a BUSY year for Bloom’s creative team and social media team. We planned and executed dozens of shoots for our clients. Our team had a blast creating tons of different content, from product shoots to TikTok videos.
The Opening of our First U.S. Office in Boston
A few years ago, we decided to open an office in Toronto and our Ontario team and portfolio of clients has been growing ever since. The next logical step in our growth plan was expand our business to the United States.
It’s a true achievement for us to have opened our first U.S. office in Boston this year and started our business development work in the area.
In 2022, we lay the groundwork for growth in the U.S. and we hope to see our efforts come to fruition in 2023. Stay tuned!
The Celebration of Bloom’s 15th Anniversary!
Last January, Bloom officially turned 15 years old. The business began with two digital marketers who believed that they could help companies grow online, and it has evolved to a team of more than 80 people across Canada.
To celebrate this milestone, we wrote down our story, from humble beginnings to now being one of Canada’s fastest growing agencies. Check it out here: https://www.makeitbloom.com/blog/performance-marketing-agency-bloom-celebrates-its-15th-anniversary/
The Globe and Mail’s Ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies
We were so proud of featuring on the Globe and Mail’s ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for the fourth year in a row! We ranked No. 202, with a three-year revenue growth of 210%.
Our team has been dedicated to creating sustainable growth for the past four years, and this ranking really proves it.
The Launch of Our New Agency-Wide Methodology: BOREAL
In 2007, Bloom started out as a pure performance marketing boutique agency specializing in paid search. Performance marketing is the core of what we’re doing and always will be.
That said, the digital marketing landscape changed so much in the last few years and this led us to rethink our approach to performance marketing to introduce a brand acceleration methodology.
Brand acceleration is essentially the art of leveraging branding in order to make the brand become a performance vector.
This methodology, we call it BOREAL (Brand, Objectives, Reach, Engagement, Action, Learnings). Every project at Bloom fits within on of these pillars, from strategic planning, to creative production and campaign creation.
It gives us clear guidelines on how to leave lasting impressions without loosing sight of our clients’ ROI.

The Embracing of Our Hybrid Work Environment
When COVID-19 rolled around, we had no choice to shift our work policy to include more flexibility when it comes to working at the office and remotely.
In 2022, we have reached a point where we truly embrace a hybrid work environment, where we can meet at the office for important meetings and team building, but also enjoy the convenience of working from home.
We found ways to include a virtual aspect to most of our team building activities to make everyone feel included, whether you were at home or at the office.
For example, we hosted Sport Week, where Bloomers had to complete virtual challenges and the week ended with an in-person sporting event, where team competed for the Grand Champion title. Fun times!
The Implementation Of ClickUp, Our New Project Management Tool
One of the highlights of our year was the implementation of a new project management tool called ClickUp.
Implementing a new tool that disrupts everybody’s old habits takes a lot of time and effort. Thankfully, the Bloom team is accustomed to change and already has to be flexible and agile in their everyday work life. We’re happy to report that the tool is now fully integrated across the agency.
ClickUp helps us follow timeline, deliverables and to-dos on internal and external projects, evaluate workload, collaborate across departments, share knowledge and more, which, ultimately, makes everyone lives easier.

Being Named Google Premier Partner 2022
In 2022, the Google Partners program has underwent significant changes, including redefining what it means to be a Premier Partner through new, advanced program and offering to support growth and success with Google Ads.
We were extremely proud to be part of the 2022 roster of agency named “Google Premier Partner 2022”, a distinction is held by only the top 3% of Google Partners.
That was definitely a highlight this year!
Navigating Lots of Changes in Web Analytics
Web Analytics underwent a lot of changes last year. In light of Google’s announcement to sunset Google Universal Analytics in 2023, we migrated almost all of our clients to Google Analytics 4.
We also implemented a lot of server-side tracking, including Google Enhanced Conversions and the Facebook Conversion API for our clients, to help us better assess the performance of our campaigns and optimize accordingly.
In 2023, the Web Analytics world will continue to change, and we are ready to help our clients stay on top of it!
What a year this has been!
We would love to take this opportunity to thank our clients and partners for their support and loyalty this year. Cheers to more shared successes in the new year!
